In week 8 the Sugarhouse turned on the UV lights and got out their glow sticks for ‘glo night’. They opened up the back room, charged 90p entry (90p!) and once you were in you could get drinks from the same price (90p for a shot of vodka plus 40p for a mixer is a pretty great deal as far as I’m concerned).

With plenty of glow sticks being handed out to the crowd for free, the dance floor was filled with an ethereal light. The cheap drinks and general awesomeness of the already too often mentioned glow sticks was always going to ensure a great night was had by all. The highlights included a giant glow stick skipping rope, a glow stick limbo, and generally fantastic photo opportunities all night. Then when we got home, we used the 20 glow sticks we’d procured to decorate my shelves and notice board so I could fall asleep to a gentle luminescence. To be honest if you weren’t there you really missed out, so let’s hope they have another one.
