The Final Fury

With less than a week left of a term before the Easter holidays, it was clear we all needed a night out to remember and so the Final Friday Fury on the 14th of March was the perfect opportunity for a uni-wide celebration!

The bars seemed to be even more packed than they were on the previous Fury’s (I gave up queuing for a drink in Grizedale and instead had to resort to shouting orders to friends who’d been able to squeeze themselves nearer the bar!) and the atmosphere was truly amazing. Rather than collecting wristbands or tickets, this time around it was badges with each college‟s logo on which helped to give us our discounted or completely free entry to the Sugar-house in town, where the party continued for many of us once the campus bars had closed.

While I know that Friday Fury would never be anywhere near as good if we did it too often, I hope that it‟s an idea which is carried on in the future as it’s almost like relieving Fresher‟s Week all over again and really brings the university to life. It also gave people from other colleges who’ve never dragged themselves down to South West a chance to see how nice Cartmel Bar actually is! Whether or not last Friday’s Fury was the last one, it certainly didn’t disappoint.
