Hello everyone and welcome to the first edition of The Griffin this term.

Matt and I hope that you enjoy the magazine immensely as we have tried to make it both entertaining and informative.

By now you will have settled in and made loads of new friends, some a little kookier than others, but all just as fun. Also by now I’m sure you will have ventured into town to explore the many delights that Lancaster has to offer, from the tour around the Castle/Prison to the Ashton Memorial and Butterfly House at the top of the hill.

So what next actual academia??? Sadly, this is the reality that slaps you in the face after the first few weeks of freshers and intro lectures. Don’t let this get you down though, as its nearly time to go back home again!
