Interview with the captain

How often are matches?

Ladies pool team matches are on a Wednesday at 7, and we usually meet about 5 in the JCR on a wed, so we can all have a catch up and practise for a couple of hours. if the match is away we wait for everyone in the JCR so we can arrive as a team.

How competitive is college pool?

I wouldnt say Cartmel were the most competitive team but we had a great focus on the social side of the team, but this seemed to improve team spirit. The ladies finished 5th last year i think and we beat and drew with the lads on the weeks we had mixed matches, not that the lads would admit it.

How can Cartmel improve on last years results?

By getting more people involved.

Anything else?

In the first two terms we managed to have 2 socials nealry every week, on a Wednesday at The Carleton and on Thursday where we had to make an appearance at Walkabout to fulfill our sponsorship deal. The socials are for the whole team and, we found them to be very important. We managed to have a few pool socials in third term as well. We have two social secs for the teams who have already started planning some themed nights out, so next year should be equally as awesome.

As for the trials, anyone should come along as we need lots of fun, sociable people to be on the team, and they dont have to be brillaint as the lads have promised to help train people up!

One more thing… my first year wouldn’t have been the same without being on the pool team!
