We’re now at week 6 of the first term, and there’s quite a lot going on. If you’re interested in being a member of the JCR Exec next year, this week is especially important…

MONDAY

JCR Exec nominations open
To run for a position on the Exec, you will need to be ‘nominated’. This essentially just means, writing your name on a sign-up sheet, and having two people ‘nominate’ you, i.e. agree that you would be a good candidate for the job. The nominations board will be put up in the JCR at 12 noon. Nominations close Monday week 7, so don’t delay!

Meet the current JCR
If you have any questions at all about any particular position, or the JCR Exec as a whole and what it entails, we are holding a mini social at 8pm in the bar for you to get the information you need. Come down for an informal chat with any of us, we can answer your burning questions!

Vodfest
We head to Revolution for Monday night fun. Great music and fantastic drinks offers all night. Tickets are available from the bar (from 9pm) and include bus, entry and free shot. Can’t be bad for just £3!

THURSDAY

Comedy Night

FRIDAY

Cartmel visit 42nd Street, Manchester
Our first off-campus social of the year sees Cartmel visit 42s in Manchester. Tickets are just £7 including coach travel and entry, and will be on sale throughout the week. The coach will be leaving at 9pm.

SATURDAY

Film night
This weeks film is Dodgeball. Come up to the JCR at 7.30pm for free entertainment.

SUNDAY

Carter Shield
This week, we’re playing Women’s Football! Come to the JCR at 12 noon, and we’ll head up to the sports centre together. Then we’ll show the other colleges how awesome we are! Even if you don’t fancy playing yourself, come down to support. Bring your Purplecard if you want to play

Quiz
Starting at 8pm in the bar. A great way to unwind in time for the week ahead. Now with the bar serving snack food.
