Block Heritage

Bigland Tarn is a 13 acre glacial lake nestling in the hills on the privately owned Bigland Hall Estate south of Haverthwaite. The Estate is well signed from the A590 Kendal to Barrow road at Haverthwaite and lies just 1½ miles off the main road. Bigland Hall also offers pony trekking, archery, clay pigeon shooting, game shooting and deer watching which may be of interest to other members of the family.

The tarn has been an established coarse fishery for many years and is well stocked with roach, rudd, perch, tench, carp, bream, eels and pike.
